Merry Christmas (Even if it’s Not Jesus’ actual Birthday)

It’s Christmas Day.

It’s arrived and I’m grateful.

Grateful for life, grateful to be in my right mind. Grateful for everything my body has done and continues to do for me. Grateful for being here in the Cayman Islands.

I’m not writing this post on Christmas Day because I wanted to be fully present with my family. And why have a scheduling feature if I don’t use it, hey?

I also thought it’d be a good exercise to speak life, joy and gratitude into my Christmas ahead of time; speak what I want it to be, rather than focus on what I fear about it.

And that leads me to the deeper meaning of Christmas – Jesus. Although my faith has changed and evolved over the last 20 years, one thing remains – I believe in Jesus and I’m grateful he came in to my life and showed me that he’s real.

The date of his birth may be disputable, but I know when he came in to my life and that’s the most important gift I want to remember today.

So cheers to Jesus!

Takeaway: Whatever I eat or don’t eat. Whoever does or doesn’t love me. The most important thing to remember is that I am loved by my whole heavenly family and I’m grateful.
